PEERY LAKE

About an hour's drive from town, Peery Lake is in the Paroo Darling National park and is truly fascinating, in the middle of our arid landscape it looks like the beach with its waterworn rocks a throwback to when it was an inland sea. Peery lake is the only location in NSW where Great Artesian Basin mound springs are visible in a lake bed. It doesn't always have water in the lake but is always worth a look, and when there is water in the lake the birdlife is well worth watching.
